Corpus Christi College

DIRECTOR OF MUSIC

The College wishes to appoint a part-time Director of Music. This is a new and exciting post which it is anticipated will provide support, encouragement and continuity in the musical life of the College, with opportunities for the creative development of musical activities. Some academic teaching may also be possible.

The successful candidate will have considerable musical accomplishment, enthusiasm, and energy, and appreciation of the need to work closely with the Chapel choir, organ scholars, and existing music groups within the College. It is envisaged that this post may appeal to those with existing academic or musical experience, or to an aspiring musician who has completed his or her postgraduate academic studies, but who may be seeking to consolidate or maintain a professional musical career.

The post will require an average of twelve hours a week. The post-holder will be expected to accompany the Choir on its annual tour. The appointment will be for three years, with a one year probationary period. The salary will be in the range of £10,000 to £12,000 a year. The Director of Music will also have full dining rights and Senior Common Room membership.

Further particulars may be obtained from Mrs Lyn Goodenough, Human Resources Manager, Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, CB2 1RH (e-mail personnel@corpus.cam.ac.uk).

Applications should be made to Mrs Goodenough not later than 4 September. They should include a curriculum vitae with details of the candidate's education record, publications, recordings, teaching, and professional experience, and the names and addresses of two referees who should be asked by the applicant to submit references by the closing date. Interviews for short-listed candidates will be held on 14 September.
