Applications are invited for a Research Co-ordinator for RAMSES (an EU-funded network of excellence in the Mediterranean) to start in October 2005.

The appointment is for 18 months. The post-holder will manage an EU-funded research project on memory, borders, and conflicts in the Mediterranean as part of a network of excellence, gathering 52 universities from around the Mediterranean. The co-ordinator will be responsible for related research, administrative, editorial, networking, and co-ordinating tasks, including the final production of publications and other output. The successful candidate should have a background in politics, international relations, and/or contemporary history. Expertise in the current politics of the region as well as command of at least one other relevant language is essential. The applicant should have, or be about to submit, a doctorate in politics or international relations. The salary will be £19,240 a year, including eligibility to join a pension scheme.
