Professorship of Service and Support Engineering: Notice

The University and the Royal Academy of Engineering invite applications for this new Professorship, created with support from BAESystems and reflecting the rapidly growing importance of the field. This is a fixed-term appointment for a period of five years in the first instance and the successful applicant will take up appointment on 1 October 2005 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The Professor will be expected to take a broad view of the field including strategic, operational, and technical perspectives and particularly the interactions between them. Funds are available to support the development of novel programmes of research, education, and application, and the integration between them. Encouragement will be given to the establishment of networks of expertise nationally and internationally.
