The Vice-Chancellor gives notice that she has received the following nomination for election to the Council in class (a) (Heads of Colleges) to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of the Master of St Catharine's College (see Reporter, p. 614), and that it has been certified to her that the candidate has consented to be nominated:
Dame Veronica Sutherland, President of Lucy Cavendish College is nominated by the Master of St Catharine's College and seconded by the Master of Darwin College.
No other candidate having been nominated, the Vice-Chancellor declares that Dame Veronica Sutherland is elected to serve as a member of the Council from 1 August 2005 until 31 December 2006, and that the election previously announced will not now take place.
