Clare College is seeking to appoint an experienced manager to run the day-to-day operational side of the College. Clare has 450 undergraduates and 180 postgraduate students, almost all of whom are resident in College. Private catering and conferences are an important source of revenue. The Steward's position in Clare is the equivalent of a Domestic Bursar elsewhere, and a Fellowship may be offered depending on experience. Salary will be in the range of £40,000 to £50,000 a year, including a performance element.
While experience in the conference or hospitality sector would be very useful, equally important is a flair for motivating 100 staff in a mature and good humoured way.
