Graces submitted to the Regent House on 18 May 2005

The Council submit the following Graces to the Regent House. These Graces, other than any which is withdrawn or for which a ballot is requested in accordance with the regulations for Graces of the Regent House (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 105), will be deemed to have been approved at 4 p.m. on Friday, 27 May 2005.

1. That the regulations for the publication of lists of successful candidates in examinations be amended as follows:1

Regulation 4.

By amending the regulation so as to read:

4. All class-lists shall be published by the Registrary and subsequently printed in the Reporter. A list shall be deemed to have been published as soon as either (a) the Registrary has caused a copy of it to be posted outside the Senate-House or (b) a copy of it has been read in the Senate-House. Any copy of a list read in the Senate-House shall immediately thereafter be posted outside the Senate-House. Until printing of a class-list in the Reporter, a copy of the class-list issued for posting outside the Senate-House or in any Faculty, Department, or other institution in the University or a College, or read in the Senate-House shall exclude the name of any candidate where such exclusion has been determined by the Council for good cause.

Regulation 5.

By replacing the words 'copies of each list' by the words 'copies of each complete list'.

2. That the recommendation in paragraph 7 of the Report of the General Board, dated 13 April 2005, on the establishment of a Readership in Astronomy (Reporter, p. 631), be approved.

3. That Sir Richard Dearlove, Master of Pembroke College, be appointed one of the Septemviri to serve until 31 December 2006.
