The College proposes to elect three Research Fellows and Tutors from 1 October 2004 in the following subjects: Mathematics, Economics, Archaeology and Anthropology. The posts are five-year (fixed-term, non-renewable) appointments. In each case, the person elected will have a strong research record and will be required to provide four hours a week undergraduate, tutorial teaching averaged over the 24-week academical year. The Fellow may be asked to help in a limited way with the academic and pastoral organization of the subject.

The Fellows will not be members of the Governing Body, but will be full members of the Senior Common Room and will be entitled to free meals (lunch and dinner) within College, as well as to an academic allowance of £387 a year (adjustable annually). A shared teaching room will be available. The stipend for up to four hours of teaching a week averaged over the year will be £3,516 a year (adjustable annually). In addition, a Fellow not in receipt of other financial support will receive a housing allowance of £3,318 a year (adjustable annually). The Fellow will be eligible to join USS. Selection will be made on the basis of research potential and teaching ability.
