Churchill College

MASTER

The role of Master is to provide leadership and inspiration to the students and Fellows of the College, to oversee its democratic self-governance and future development, and to represent it in the University and the outside world.

The College, shortly to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of its foundation as the national memorial to Sir Winston Churchill, is one of the largest in Cambridge, and houses an important archive of political and scientific papers. The foundation Charter places special emphasis on graduate education and scientific subjects.

The term of the present Master, Sir John Boyd, KCMG, ends on 31 July 2006. His successor will be appointed by the Crown following consultation with the Fellowship.

The Fellows would welcome enquiries from (or suggestions of) suitably qualified men and women, who have achieved distinction through wide experience in academic or professional life.

Please contact the Vice-Master, Churchill College, Storey's Way, Cambridge, CB3 0DS (e-mail Vice-Master@chu.cam.ac.uk) before 18 March 2005. The Churchill College website can be found at http://www.chu.cam.ac.uk/.
