Anthony Wilkin Fund: Notice

(Statutes and Ordinances, pp. 703 and 884)

The Faculty Board of Archaeology and Anthropology give notice that they are prepared to receive applications for the Anthony Wilkin Studentship and for grants from the Anthony Wilkin Fund. The Fund is devoted to the encouragement of research in ethnology and archaeology, preferably by fieldwork among less developed societies, and in lands other than Greece, Italy, or Egypt. Preference is given to candidates for the Studentship who have obtained honours in the Archaeological and Anthropological Tripos or have been approved for the award of the degree of Master of Philosophy having followed a course under the supervision of the Degree Committee for the Faculty of Archaeology and Anthropology. Awards are normally made only to cover research expenses, not for student maintenance or fees.

Candidates for the Studentship or applicants for a grant must apply to the Secretary of the Faculty Board at the Faculty of Archaeology and Anthropology, Downing Street, Cambridge, CB2 3DZ, for an application form which must be returned no later than 30 April. Candidates and applicants are reminded that it is their responsibility to ensure that letters from two referees are received by the Secretary of the Faculty Board by that same date.

If there is a suitable candidate, the Anthony Wilkin Student will be elected not later that 30 June. Grants from the fund will be made by the same date.
