Wadham College

FINANCE BURSAR

Wadham College is seeking to recruit an experienced, qualified Finance Bursar for a period of three years to lead the development of the College's financial management capability. The College, founded in 1610, is one of the largest in the University of Oxford, with 450 undergraduates, 150 postgraduates, 60 Fellows, and 112 full-time and part-time staff.

The Finance Bursar will provide strategic financial direction to the College as it seeks to diversify and increase its sources of income and to bring its financial management up to the highest standards. It has set itself the target of achieving this goal within a three year period. For this reason the post is offered for three years at the end of which period the College's requirements for senior financial management support will be reviewed. The post is a senior one, and the Finance Bursar will lead a team of Finance Department staff.

The appointment demands a well-qualified and highly experienced financial officer with a first-class track record in financial management and a clear understanding of the special role of a college within a world-class university. The successful candidate will be offered an attractive package with a salary in the region of £50,000, a housing allowance of £4,502 a year, and an election to a Fellowship.

Further information is available on the College website (http://www.wadham.ox.ac.uk/) or from the Warden's Secretary, Wadham College, Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3PN (tel. 01865 277931, fax 01865 277964, e-mail debra.ashby@wadham.ox.ac.uk). The closing date for applications is 4 February.
