SENIOR BURSAR

Applications are invited for the post of Senior Bursar to take up office on or before 1 April 2005. The Senior Bursar is the principal financial officer of the College and is supported by a well-qualified in-house team and professional advisers. The successful candidate will be expected to play a leading part in developing the strategic direction, management, and enhancement of the College's assets and of its management information and accounting systems.

The Senior Bursar works closely with the Domestic Bursar, who is responsible for the day-to-day management of the internal workings of the College, its catering and conference activities, and its maintenance staff. The successful candidate will be elected a Fellow of the College for the duration of the tenure of the office. He or she will be offered an attractive salary, plus assistance with relocation to the Cambridge area if required.

BRIAN RUNNETT PRIZE COMPETITION 2005

The Brian Runnett Prize for organ playing is open to all Junior Members of the University.

1. The Competition will take place on 8 March 2005 in St John's College Chapel.
2. Candidates will be required to play:
 
(i)Vivace (first movement) only from Trio Sonata No. 6 in G major BWV 530Bach
(ii)Fugue only from Sonata 'on the 94th Psalm' Reubke
3. The St John's College Chapel Organ will be available for practice (two hours per candidate) during the fortnight before the Competition.
4. Intending candidates should inform Caroline Marks, Assistant to the Director of Music of St John's College (c.f.marks@joh.cam.ac.uk) by 7 February 2005.
In the event of a large entry, a short-listing procedure will be implemented.
5. There will be three adjudicators: Mr Paul Trepte, Mr Colin Walsh, and Dr David Hill.
6. The value of the prize is £240.
