EXECUTIVE SECRETARY

Applications are invited for the full-time post of Executive Secretary to the Cambridge Philosophical Society to take up appointment from 1 December 2004, or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate will be responsible to the President, officers, and members of the Council of the Society, and should be mature, have strong organizational and secretarial skills, be numerate, computer literate, self-motivated, tactful, discreet, and able to communicate with people at all levels. Knowledge of accounts (particularly SAGE accounting software) and VAT would be desirable. A good background would be a senior secretarial/administrative post in a scientific department. The Society is an Associated Employer with Cambridge University and the usual conditions associated with a University appointment will apply. The salary will be in the range of £18,567 to £22,148.
