Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Celtic Tripos

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 222)

With effect from 1 October 2005

Papers 3, 4, 9, and 10 for Part I of the Tripos and Papers 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, and 12 for Part II of the Tripos have been renumbered as 4, 9, 10, and 3 and as 4, 9, 11, 12, 10, and 3, respectively, to provide a coherent scheme of presentation. The regulations have been amended as follows:

Part I

Regulation 12.

By amending the order of Papers 3-10 so as to read:

Paper3.The Brittonic-speaking peoples from the fourth century to the twelfth.
Paper4.The Gaelic-speaking peoples form the fourth century to the twelfth.
Paper5.Old English language and literature (also serves as Paper 15 of Part II of the English Tripos).
Paper6.Old Norse language and literature (also serves as Paper 12 of Part I and Paper 17 of Part II of the English Tripos).
Paper7.Medieval Welsh language and literature (also serves as Paper 13 of Part I and Paper 18A of Part II of the English Tripos).
Paper8.Medieval Irish language and literature (also serves as Paper 19A of Part II of the English Tripos).
Paper9.Insular Latin language and literature (also serves as Paper 11 of Part I and Paper 16 of Part II of the English Tripos).
Paper10.Palaeography and codicology.

Part II

Regulation 14.

By amending the order of Papers 3-12 so as to read:

Paper3.A subject in Brittonic history specified by the Faculty Board of English.
Paper4.A subject in Gaelic history specified by the Faculty Board of English.
Paper5.A subject in Old English literature specified by the Faculty Board of English.
Paper6.Advanced medieval Scandinavian language and literature.
Paper7.Advanced medieval Welsh language and literature (also serves as Paper 18B of Part II of the English Tripos).
Paper8.Advanced medieval Irish language and literature (also serves as Paper 19B of Part II of the English Tripos).
Paper9.A subject in Insular Latin literature specified by the Faculty Board of English.
Paper10.Textual criticism.
Paper11.Germanic philology.
Paper12.Celtic philology (also serves as Paper 20 of the Linguistics Tripos).

Regulation 16(b).

By replacing the words 'Paper 4 of Part I together with Paper 4 of Part II' by the words 'Paper 9 of Part I together with Paper 9 of Part II'.

The order of the papers in the supplementary regulations (p. 224) has been amended accordingly.
