Appointments, reappointments, and grants of title

The following appointments, reappointments, and grants of title have been made:

Appointments

University Lecturers

Education. Mr B. Dominic Wyse, L.T.C.L., L.R.A.M., G.R.S.M., Royal Academy of Music, M.Phil., Leeds, appointed from 1 September 2004 until the retiring age.

International Studies. Dr Brendan Peter Simms, PET, Dr Julie Elizabeth Smith, R, and Mr Marc Weller, HH, appointed from 1 April 2004 until the retiring age.

Judge Institute of Management Studies. Dr Simon James Bell, B.Comm., Ph.D., Melbourne, appointed from 1 January 2003 for three years.

Law. Mrs Nicola Margaret Padfield, F, B.A., Oxford, appointed from 1 October 2004 until the retiring age.

Residents

Clinical Veterinary Medicine. Dr Barbara Posch, Dr.med.vet., University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna, appointed Resident in Diagnostic Imaging from 5 July 2004 for three years. Mr Mark David Dunning, M.A., Vet.M.B., G, MRCVS, appointed Resident in Small Animal Medicine from 1 October 2004 for three years.

Associate Lecturer

Clinical Medicine. Dr Mark Stephen Lillicrap, M.A., Ph.D., R, B.M., B.Ch., Oxford, MRCP, ILT(M), appointed from 1 April 2004 for five years.

Clinical Lecturer

Medicine. Dr Babak Javid, M.A., M.B., B.Chir., CL, MRCP, appointed from 1 August 2004 for four years.

Clinical Neurosciences. Professor David Alastair Standish Compston, JE, appointed from 1 January 2004 for five years.

Slavonic Studies. Professor Simon Colin Franklin, CL, appointed from 1 October 2004 for four years.

University Library. Dr Jill Whitelock, DAR, appointed from 23 August 2004 until the retiring age.

Senior Technical Officer

Chemistry. Dr Margaret Evelyn Glendenning, B.Sc., Ph.D., Hull, appointed from 1 August 2004 until the retiring age.

Advisory Officer

University Offices (Estate Management and Building Service). Mr Colin Charles High, B.Sc., Luton, appointed Advisory Officer, Grade I, from 19 July 2004 until the retiring age.

Administrative Officers

University Offices (Finance Division). Mr Kevin Ian Bower, B.Sc., Plymouth, appointed Administrative Officer, Grade I, from 26 July 2004 until the retiring age. Mrs Jacqueline Anne Lince, appointed Administrative Officer, Grade I, from 2 August 2004 until the retiring age, with duties in the Clinical School Office, the School of Clinical Medicine. Mrs Karen Lorraine Bennett, appointed Administrative Officer, Grade II, from 1 August 2004 until the retiring age.

University Offices (Academic Division). Mr Robert Andrew Fisher appointed Administrative Officer, Grade II, from 12 July 2004 until the retiring age. Dr Thomas James Matthams, M.A., Ph.D., CHR, appointed Administrative Officer, Grade II, from 26 July 2004 until the retiring age.

University Offices (Health and Safety Division). Miss Janet Patricia Roberts appointed Administrative Officer, Grade II, from 28 September 2004 until the retiring age.

Computer Officer

University Offices (Management Information Services Division). Dr Ansar I. Malik, B.Sc., Liverpool, Ph.D., Aston, M.Sc., Huddersfield, appointed Computer Officer, Grade III, from 29 June 2004 until the retiring age.

University Marshal

University Offices (Secretariat). Mr Derek Peter Bullock appointed from 1 April 2004 for one year.

Reappointments

University Lecturer

Plant Sciences. Dr Julian Michael Hibberd, EM, reappointed from 1 October 2004 until the retiring age.

Assistant Directors of Studies

Public Health and Primary Care. Dr Thomas St John Alderson, TH and Dr Warwick Jeremy Stephen Webb reappointed from 1 October 2004 for three years.

Grants Of Title

Affiliated Lecturers

Archaeology. Dr Richard John Carman, CLH, Ms Carenza Rachel Lewis, G, Dr Marco Madella, DAR, Dr Jane Margaret Renfrew, LC, and Dr Corinne Roughley, CC, have been granted the title of Affiliated Lecturer from 1 October 2004 for a further two years.

Clinical Medicine. Dr Ayla Humphrey and Dr Joanne Lesley Whittaker have been granted the title of Affiliated Lecturer from 1 October 2004 for a further two years. Dr Arthur George Hibble has been granted the title of Affiliated Lecturer from 1 November 2004 for a further two years.

Education. Ms Carol Hollida, has been granted the title of Affiliated Lecturer from 1 October 2004 for two years.

Social Anthropology. Dr Martin Timothy Walsh, W, has been granted the title of Affiliated Lecturer from 1 October 2004 for two years.
