All Souls College

FIVE-YEAR NON-RENEWABLE POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS

All Souls College intends to make an election to not more than three Post-Doctoral Research Fellowships on 26 February 2005. The Fellowships are open to men and women in the following fields of study (broadly conceived): Law, History, Philosophy, Economics, Politics, Language and Literature, Classical Studies, Oriental Studies, and Mathematical and Theoretical Sciences.

The College anticipates that candidates will not normally be older than 30 years at the date of election. The College is an equal opportunities employer, and consideration will be given to applications submitted by candidates who include a statement explaining why this age-limit would be inappropriate in their circumstances.

Applicants must have been awarded, or be an advanced candidate for, a doctoral degree at any university. Applicants must be expecting to have completed the requirements for their doctoral degree by 1 October 2005. In making an election the College is guided by its assessment of the candidates' achievements in their fields, and of their proposals for scholarly work and publication in the five years of the Fellowship: the College sees the Fellowship as support for that five years' project.

Further particulars, including a statement of the College's policy on equal treatment of candidates, may be obtained from the Warden's Secretary, All Souls College, Oxford, OX1 4AL. See also the College's website at http://www.all-souls.ox.ac.uk/. Applications must reach the Warden not later than 3 September.
