Jesus College

Jesus College intends to appoint up to four College Research Associates during the course of Michaelmas Term 2004. Candidates must at the time of appointment be of post-doctoral standing, and may be graduates of any university. They must at the time of appointment be employed by, or otherwise working in, the University of Cambridge in a research or teaching role. There are no conditions of age or subject attached to these positions, but candidates would normally be early in their research or teaching career. In respect of two of the positions, preference will normally be given to graduates of Jesus College. Candidates will be selected by reference to their ability to contribute to the intellectual, educational, and social life of the College.

The College Research Associate position will normally be tenable for a period of three years, but will be co-terminous with a University of Cambridge appointment. No stipend or honorarium will be payable, and no room or accommodation will be provided, but various benefits will be available, details of which will be provided to applicants. The positions will not carry any teaching obligations, but if any supervisions are carried out for the College, these will be paid for at the standard rates plus the same mark-up as is applicable to Fellows of the College.

Application forms may be obtained from the Master's Office (CRA), Jesus College, Cambridge, CB5 8BL, by e-mail from cra@jesus.cam.ac.uk, or from the College website at http://www.jesus.cam.ac.uk/. Applications must be received by 31 August 2004, including a curriculum vitae, the names of two referees, and a statement, intelligible to a non-specialist, of not more than 500 words outlining present and future research and/or teaching plans.
