Announcement of events

The following events will be open to members of the University and others who are interested:

Central Asia Forum. Professor Bekhzod S. Yuldashev, of the Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences, will present a lecture on Non-proliferation issues in Uzbekistan, at 4 p.m., on 17 June, in the Small Lecture Theatre, Bragg Building, Cavendish Laboratory. Centre for Modern Hebrew Studies. The Summer Ulpan will host the following talks at 5 p.m. in Room 206 of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, unless otherwise stated.

27 June Flora and fauna in the land of Israel, by Dr Ephraim Lev, of Bar-Ilan University, Israel. (Room 13).
29 June The Bible as literature: secrets of a number one best-seller, by Lynn Zanger-Nadis, of the Faculty of Oriental Studies.
5 July Modern Hebrew literature and the use of the biblical texts: the story of Akedah, by Marta Marzanska of the Faculty of Oriental Studies.

Isaac Newton Institute. Rothschild Visiting Professor, Peter Sarnak, of Princeton University, will give a seminar at 5 p.m. on 5 July, entitled Zeta functions and random matrix theory. The seminar will be followed by an informal reception at 6 p.m.
