University College

University College is seeking a full-time Senior Tutor for appointment from 1 October or as soon as possible thereafter.

The Senior Tutor will be a Fellow of the College but will not be required to undertake teaching or research duties. However, he or she will need to have academic sympathies and an academic background will be an advantage. Reporting to the Tutorial Committee and Governing Body, the appointee will have responsibility for academic policy, interface with the University and academic Departments, the appointment and employment of Fellows and other academic staff, administering and monitoring the tutorial budget, admissions, and general arrangements for supervision and teaching of graduate and undergraduate students.

The Senior Tutor manages and is supported by the College Office consisting of a College Secretary, Admissions Secretary, Tutorial Secretary, and Fellows' Secretary. The College Office also provides support for other academic officers of the College, principally the Dean and Dean of Graduates.

Salary will be in the order of £50,000 depending on age and experience, plus meals within College and inclusion in the College's health insurance scheme. The latest retirement date is as for other University academic staff.

Interviews will be held on 25 June and 30 June at the College.

Further particulars may be obtained from the Master's Secretary, University College, Oxford, OX1 4BH (tel. 01865 276600, e-mail marion.hawtree@univ.ox.ac.uk), to whom applications should be sent in writing, with a full curriculum vitae and citing three referees, not later than 4 June. Candidates are asked to send four copies of applications and curricula vitae.
