Jesus College

APPOINTMENT OF SCHOOLS LIAISON OFFICER (MATERNITY LEAVE COVER)

This post offers an interesting opportunity to someone enthusiastic about promoting undergraduate education at Jesus College and the University of Oxford. The Schools Liaison Officer is the primary point of contact in College for information about undergraduate admissions, dealing with schools, colleges, prospective applicants, and their families, and undertaking a range of activities to support the College's schools outreach work.

The post requires recent knowledge and/or experience of higher education (ideally an understanding of undergraduate education at Oxford), fluent written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills with a wide range of people, good organizational and IT proficiency, and the ability to work both independently and in a small team.

The post is to cover a period of maternity leave, for a maximum of 52 weeks, and it is hoped to fill the post from 28 June or as soon as possible thereafter. The post will be 60% of full-time, i.e. 21 hours a week. The salary is on the academic-related 1 scale (£18,265 to £20,311 a year pro rata, the figures are under review from 1 August 2003). Other benefits include a contributory staff pension scheme (OSPS), holiday entitlement of 38 days pro rata, and a free lunch when on duty.

Further particulars are available from the Assistant Bursar, Jesus College, Oxford, OX1 3DW (tel. 01865 279716, e-mail rosemary.frame@jesus.ox.ac.uk) or at http://www.jesus.ox.ac.uk/. Applicants should submit an application form (available from the Assistant Bursar), a curriculum vitae, and covering letter to the Assistant Bursar by the closing date of 11 May. Applicants should also ask two referees to write to the Assistant Bursar by the closing date.
