Statutes approved: Notice

17 March 2004

The Registrary has received notice from the Clerk at the Privy Council Office that Her Majesty the Queen, at a Council held on 10 March 2004, was pleased to approve amendments of Statutes A, G, and T which were submitted under the Common Seal of the University in accordance with Graces 1 and 2 of 6 August 2003.

The amendments to Statute A, III, 7(a) and A, IV, 2 and 4 authorized under Grace 2 of 6 August 2003 relate to the introduction of two external members of the Council, one of whom will be the chairman of the Audit Committee (see the Report of the Council, dated 12 May 2003, on governance (chairmanship of the Audit Committee and external membership of the Council) and their Notice, dated 28 July 2003, Reporter, 2002-03, pp. 920 and 1262). The amendments are effective from 1 April 2004, and the revised regulations for the Audit Committee take effect from the same date. The Council will issue further information about the appointment procedure for the external members of the Council as soon as possible.

The amendments to Statute G, III and G, VI, and Statute T authorized under Grace 1 of 6 August 2003 relate to a revised form of College accounts. The amendments repealed Statute G, VI and the Schedules D and E to Statute G, III (see the Council's Report, dated 9 June 2003, on amendments to Statute G, III and G, VI and their Notice, dated 21 July 2003, Reporter, 2002-03, pp. 1017 and 1247). Following the approval of the amendment to Statute G, III, regulations for the presentation of the new Recommended Cambridge College Accounts come into effect.
