Natural Sciences Tripos, Part II (History and Philosophy of Science)

With effect from 1 October 2004

The regulations have been amended in the light of a review of the teaching provision of the Department of History and Philosophy of Science.

Regulation 32.

History and Philosophy of Science

By amending the number of papers in line 2 of subsection (a) from 'not more than eight' to 'not more than ten'.

By replacing the detail so as to read:

The following papers will be set. No candidate shall offer Paper 7 or Paper 8 having previously offered the two-paper subject History of Medicine in Part II of the Medical and Veterinary Sciences Tripos.

Paper 2. Natural philosophies: Renaissance to Enlightenment

Paper 3. Science, industry, and empire

Paper 4. Metaphysics, epistemology, and the sciences

Paper 5. Science and technology studies

Paper 6. History and philosophy of mind

Paper 8. Modern medicine and biomedical sciences

Paper 9. Images of the sciences

Paper 10. Science and technology from the First World War
