Examination in Oriental Studies for the degree of Master of Philosophy

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 481)

With effect from 1 October 2004

The Degree Committee for the Faculty of Oriental Studies have proposed the inclusion of the subject 'East Asian Studies' as a field of study for this degree. Candidates for the examination in this field will be able to choose papers from Chinese Studies and Japanese Studies as well as papers covering East Asia as a whole, and would be required to demonstrate research competence in one or more of the languages of East Asia (Chinese, Japanese, or Korean). The schedule to the regulations has been amended by including the subject 'East Asian Studies'.

Notices by Faculty Boards, or other bodies concerned, of changes to the form and conduct of certain examinations to be held in 2003-04, by comparison with those examinations in 2003, are published below. Complete details of the form and conduct of all examinations are available from the Faculties or Departments.
