POSTS IN THE FACULTY OF ORIENTAL STUDIES

Instructorship in Turkish

Applications are invited for an Instructorship in Turkish. This is a permanent post, tenable from 1 October 2004, with a stipend on the Instructor Salary scale A12 £18,265-£21,125 a year. Applicants should have a native or equivalent command of Turkish and competence in the teaching of Turkish as a foreign language. Experience of the teaching of Turkish literature would be an advantage, but is not essential.

Two Departmental Lecturerships in Japanese

Applications are invited for two fixed-term two-year teaching positions in Modern Japanese, commencing 1 October 2004. The principal duties of the posts are to give lectures and classes in Modern Japanese culture and in modern and classical texts, to conduct research, and to examine. The salary for these posts is on the Grade A09 Departmental Lecture Salary of £18,265-£24,121.
