Oxford, Cambridge, and RSA Examinations (OCR)

CHIEF EXECUTIVE

The new Chief Executive will ensure that OCR (Oxford, Cambridge, and RSA Examinations) is positioned to meet the future needs of learners, schools, colleges, and employers, maintaining rigorous standards and providing an integrated service to customers through its broad range of qualifications.

The successful candidate will be responsible for OCR's strategy and operational effectiveness and will ensure that the organization achieves the highest level of quality and reliability. He/she will be responsible for meeting stringent regulatory requirements while ensuring that OCR develops its innovative edge through a flexible approach to qualifications and assessment.

The successful candidate will be a capable and energetic senior executive, skilled at managing culture change, and comfortable with the large scale and innovative deployment of IT. This is a high-profile and challenging role, and excellent communication and presentation skills are essential. In addition the successful candidate will have experience of managing and developing a high-volume, service-orientated, and process-driven business, and a keen desire to develop OCR's brand.

OCR, one of England's three Unitary Awarding Bodies, is a subsidiary of the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES), and employs more than 600 staff based mainly in Cambridge and the West Midlands.
