Trinity Hall

The following notice supersedes the notice which appeared in the Reporter of 28 January 2004 (p. 421).

TEACHING FELLOWSHIP IN MATHEMATICS

Trinity Hall invites applications for a teaching Fellowship in Pure Mathematics or Probability and Statistics. The successful applicant will be expected to teach small groups of students (typically two students in a group) for twelve hours a week (over 20 weeks of the academical year) and assist in supervising, directing studies, and undergraduate admissions. While this is a College based teaching position, the successful applicant will be encouraged to undertake independent research and to contribute both to the life of the College and the relevant University Department.

The appointment will take effect from 15 September 2004 (or at the latest 1 October 2004), for three years in the first instance. An earlier appointment date might be negotiated. The starting stipend for this post will be in the range of £18,500 to £26,000 on the University scale for academic appointments, depending on age and experience.

Applications, including a curriculum vitae, a statement of research, and the names of three referees (one teaching referee and two research referees), should be addressed to the Master by 23 February. It is anticipated that the final interviews will be held during the early part of March. Further particulars are available on the College website (http://www.trinhall.cam.ac.uk/appointments/), or from Ginny Barrett, PA to the Master, Trinity Hall, Cambridge, CB2 1TJ (tel. 01223 332540, fax 01223 765157, e-mail vfab2@cam.ac.uk). Specific questions may be addressed to Professor Tom Körner (e-mail twk@dpmms.cam.ac.uk).
