Friends of Cambridge University Botanic Garden

The Friends of the Botanic Garden will be leading tours each Sunday in February to celebrate the Winter Garden. The two daily tours will be for approximately one and a half hours, beginning at the Gilmour Building at 10.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. Places are on a first-come, first-served basis and cost £3 per person payable to the Guide at the Gilmour Building. Normal Garden admission charges apply.

The following courses will be taking place this term.

Wednesday, 28 January. 1 p.m. - 4.15 p.m. (Repeated on Saturday, 14 February. 10 a.m. - 1.15 p.m.) Cost: £15.

A beginner's guide to growing orchids, by Mr Rob Brett.

Friday, 6 February. 10 a.m. - 4.30 p.m. Cost: £35

Two winter gardens, by Dr Tim Upson and Mr Richard Todd.

Saturday, 7 February. 10 a.m. - 1.15 p.m. (Repeated on Saturday, 21 February. 10 a.m. - 1.15 p.m.) Cost: £15

25 Years of the Winter Garden, by Dr Tim Upson.

Saturday, 6 and Sunday, 7 March. Cost: £70

Exotic orchids in watercolour, by Ms Anne Abraham.

Advance booking on all these courses is essential. Further details are available from the Education Office at the Botanic Garden (tel. 01223 331875, e-mail education@botanic.cam.ac.uk).

The Botanic Garden is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the winter months. Admission is £2.50/£2 on all winter weekends and bank holidays and every day from 1 March to 31 October.
