The following appointments and grants of title have been made:

Appointments

University Lecturers

Engineering. Dr David John White, M.A., M.Eng., Ph.D., JN, appointed from 1 November 2003 for five years.
French. Dr Ingrid Paula Wassenaar, M.A., CHR, D.Phil., Oxford, appointed from 1 October 2003 for five years.
Geography. Dr Andrew Shepherd, CHU, B.Sc., Ph.D., Leicester, and Dr Elizabeth E. Watson, Ph.D., N, B.Sc., London, appointed from 1 October 2003 for five years.
Philosophy. Dr Maria Serena Olsaretti, JN, M.A., M.Phil., D.Phil., Oxford, appointed from 1 October 2003 for five years.

Clinical Lecturer

Pathology. Dr Christopher Smith, M.B., B.Chir., Ph.D., T, B.Sc., London, appointed from 1 November 2003 for four years.

Administrative Officer

University Offices (Academic Division). Dr Mary Catherine Ambrose Griffin, M.A., Ph.D., N, appointed Administrative Officer, Grade II, from 9 December 2003 until the retiring age, with duties in the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences.

Education. Mrs Fay Alison Turner, P.G.C.E., HO, B.A., Sussex, M.A., London, and Mrs Jane Webster, B.Ed., HO, have been granted the title of Affiliated Lecturer from 1 October 2002 for two years. Mr Roger George Green, HO, B.Mus., Wales, Dip.Ed., Reading, has been granted the title of Affiliated Lecturer from 1 October 2003 for two years.
Land Economy. Dr Mark Roberts, M.A., Ph.D., NH, M.Sc., Warwick, has been granted the title of Affiliated Lecturer from 1 October 2003 for one year.
Social and Political Sciences. Dr Fiorella Dell'Olio, Laurea, Università degli Studi di Bari, Ph.D., London, Dr Tina Gutbrod, Zwischenpruefung, Ludwig-Maximilian Universitaet, Munich, M.A., State University of New York, Albany, Ph.D., Hertfordshire, and Dr Ann Vogel, M.A., Amsterdam, Diplom, Technical University of Berlin, Ph.D., Washington, Seattle, have been granted the title of Affiliated Lecturer from 1 October 2003 for two years.
