The General Board give notice that, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board or other authority concerned, the regulations for certain University examinations have been amended as follows:
(Statutes and Ordinances, pp. 320, 230, and 335)
The content of Paper 3 (Phonetics) of the Linguistics Tripos, which also serves as Paper Li. 3 of the Modern and Medieval Languages Tripos, has been revised so that the speech communication content has been included in a new paper: Paper 9 entitled 'Foundations of speech communication'. The existing Paper 9 (The history of the French language) has been renumbered as 13 replacing the suspended paper (The history, varieties, and structure of the Dutch language). The regulations have been amended accordingly as follows:
Regulation 11.
By removing the current Paper 13 in Group C and renumbering Paper 9 in that Group as Paper 13, and introducing a new Paper 9 into Group B entitled 'Foundations of speech communication'.
Regulation 2.
By inserting a new Paper 9 entitled 'Foundations of speech communication'.
Regulation 3.
By replacing at the end of the regulation the words 'Papers 3-8' by 'Papers 3-9'.
As a consequence of the introduction of a new paper in the Linguistics Tripos, the regulations for the Modern and Medieval Languages Tripos have been amended as follows:
By inserting a new Paper Li. 9 entitled 'Foundations of speech communication'.
