French Cultural and Scientific Delegation: Notice

The Berlioz Bicentenary Exhibition will be on show from 7 until 27 November 2003, at Clare Hall (Herschel Road). To mark the bicentenary of Hector Berlioz's birth, this is a special exhibition of posters (all in French), which offer a richly illustrated and fascinating insight into the composer's life and work. In association with Clare Hall Art Committee, the Cambridge Music Festival, and the Association de Diffusion de la Pensée Française (French Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

A concert by chamber choir Accentus (Conductor: Laurence Equilbey) will take place on 11 November 2003, at 8.15 p.m., in St John's College Chapel. The Algerian War Symposium will take place on 15 November 2003, at 10 a.m., in the Winstanley Lecture Theatre, Trinity College. Senior French and British historians will debate the roots of conflict, the French and Algerian Memory, and the moral issues, cultural legacy, and continuing reverberations of the years 1954-62.
