Annual Meetings of the Faculties

Archaeology and Anthropology

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Archaeology and Anthropology gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, 10 November 2003, in the Seminar Room of the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research, Downing Street. All members of the Faculty are invited to attend. Reports on the past year will be presented by the Chairman of the Faculty, Heads of the Departments of Archaeology, Biological Anthropology, Social Anthropology, the Director of the McDonald Institute, the Director and Curator of the Museum, the Chairman of the Part I Teaching Committee, and the Haddon Librarian.

Elections will be held, in accordance with Statute C, IV 2(c), of two members of the Faculty Board in class (c) to serve for four years from 1 January 2004. The two retiring members, Dr R. A. Foley and Dr P. C. Lee, are eligible for re-election.

Nominations and notification of any other business should be sent in writing to the Secretary of the Faculty Board of Archaeology and Anthropology, Downing Street, not later than Friday, 7 November 2003.

Architecture and History of Art

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Architecture and History of Art gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2.15 p.m. on Tuesday, 11 November 2003, in the Classroom at the Department of Architecture, 1-5 Scroope Terrace. The main business is to elect two members of the Faculty Board in class (c) (Statute C, IV, 2(c)) to serve until 31 December 2007.

Nominations for election and notice of any other business, should be sent to the Secretary, Mrs Virginia Bennett, 1-5 Scroope Terrace, Trumpington Street, Cambridge, CB2 1PX, to arrive not later than Friday, 7 November 2003.

Clinical Veterinary Medicine

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Clinical Veterinary Medicine gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 4.45 p.m. on Thursday, 13 November 2003, in the Senior Common Room of the Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine, Madingley Road. The main item of business will be to elect, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), one member in class (c) to serve for four years from 1 January 2004. Nominations for election, signed by the proposer and seconder, and accompanied by the consent of the person nominated, together with notice of any other business for this meeting, should reach the Secretary of the Faculty Board, Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine, Madingley Road, not later than Wednesday, 12 November 2003.

Earth Sciences and Geography

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Earth Sciences and Geography gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held on Tuesday, 18 November 2003, at 2 p.m. in the Seminar Room, Department of Geography. The main business will be to elect, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), two members in class (c) to serve for four years from January 2004.

Nominations for election, signed by the proposer and seconder, and accompanied by the consent of the person nominated, together with notice of any other business for this meeting should reach the Secretary of the Faculty, Department of Geography, Downing Place (e-mail sav25@cam.ac.uk), by Wednesday, 12 November 2003.

Economics and Politics

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Economics and Politics gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, 17 November 2003, in the Meade Room, Austin Robinson Building, Sidgwick Avenue. The Agenda for the meeting will be circulated to each member of the Faculty. One of the items of business will be to elect, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), two members of the Faculty Board in class (c) to serve for four years from 1 January 2004, one member to serve for three years from 1 January 2004, and one member to serve for two year from 1 January 2004.

Nominations in writing, signed by the proposer, together with an indication of the nominee's willingness to serve, should reach the Secretary, Mr K. J. Coutts, Faculty of Economics and Politics, Austin Robinson Building, Sidgwick Avenue, by 5 p.m. on Thursday, 13 November 2003. It would be convenient if notice of any other business that members wish to be discussed were sent in writing to the Secretary by 10 a.m. on Monday, 10 November 2003.

English

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of English gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, 20 November 2003, in Room 3, Faculty of History, Sidgwick Site. The main business will be to elect, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), three members of the Faculty Board to serve for four years in class (c), from 1 January 2004.

Nominations for election, and notice of any other business, should reach the Secretary of the Faculty Board, Mrs C. H. G. Daunton (e-mail chgd2@cam.ac.uk), Faculty of English, 27 Trumpington Street, by noon on Wednesday, 12 November 2003, at the latest.

History

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of History gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2.15 p.m. on Tuesday, 11 November 2003, in Room 3 of the Faculty of History. The main business will be to elect, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c) three members of the Faculty Board in class (c), to serve for four years with effect from 1 January 2004.

Other business will be the consideration of Examiners Reports for 2003 and matters arising therefrom, recommendations of the Working Party on Examining Matters, and the Seeley Library Report 2002/03.

Nomination forms, signed by the nominee, the proposer and seconder, should reach the Secretary at the Faculty of History, West Road, not later than noon on Tuesday, 4 November 2003.

Law

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Law gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, 20 November 2003, in the Beckwith Moot Court Room, Faculty of Law, 10 West Road. The main item of business will be the Chairman's report, and the election, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), of four members of the Faculty Board in class (c) to serve for four years from 1 January 2004.

Notice of any other business should reach the Academic Secretary of the Faculty, Dr D. M. Fox, by Wednesday, 12 November 2003. Nominations for the election to membership of the Faculty Board should reach him by the same date. Nominations should be in writing. They should be signed by the proposer and seconder, and should contain a signed statement by the nominee that he or she is willing to serve if elected.

Modern and Medieval Languages

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Modern and Medieval Languages gives notice that the Annual Faculty Meeting will be held at 2.15 p.m. on Monday, 24 November 2003, in the Little Hall, Sidgwick Avenue. The main business will be to elect five members of the Faculty Board in class (c), in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), three to serve for four years, one to serve for two years, and one to serve for one year, with effect from 1 January 2004.

Nominations for the election and notice of any other business should reach the Secretary of the Faculty Board, Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages, Sidgwick Avenue, not later than Friday, 14 November 2003.

Philosophy

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Philosophy gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, 24 November 2003, in the Board Room of the Faculty of Philosophy, Raised Faculty Building, Sidgwick Avenue. The main business will be the election of two members of the Faculty Board in class (c), in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), to serve for four years from 1 January 2004.

Nominations for these elections and notice of any other business should reach the Secretary, Mrs A. Elliott, Faculty of Philosophy, Raised Faculty Building, Sidgwick Avenue, by Friday, 14 November 2003 (e-mail ae215@cam.ac.uk).

Social and Political Sciences

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Social and Political Sciences gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, 20 November 2003, in the Seminar Room, Free School Lane.

The business of the meeting will include a report by the Chairman, and the election of members of the Faculty Board of Social and Political Sciences in class (c), in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), to fill three vacancies from 1 January 2003 for four years.

Nominations for these elections, signed by the proposer, seconder, and by the nominee indicating willingness to serve if elected should be sent to the Secretary of the Faculty Board, Social and Political Sciences, Free School Lane, Cambridge, CB2 3RQ, by no later than noon on Friday, 7 November 2003.
