Applications are invited for the Hulsean Lectureship in the University, for the calendar years 2005 and 2006. The person appointed, who must be a graduate of a university and aged not more than sixty-seven years on 1 January 2005, will be required to deliver a total of between four and eight lectures, by arrangement with the Faculty Board of Divinity, on some branch of Christian Theology. The Electors would also welcome nominations of suitable candidates.
The stipend payable is a specified proportion of the benefaction left by John Hulse, who died in 1790. The gross sum is expected to be in the region of £2,700 a year.
Those who wish to be considered by the Electors should send to the Secretary not later than 28 October 2003 brief particulars of their proposed course of lectures, together with a curriculum vitae and the names of two persons to whom reference may be made.
