New College

FELLOWSHIP IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE

TITULAR UNIVERSITY (CUF) LECTURERSHIP

New College proposes to elect, if a suitable candidate applies, a Fellow and Tutor in English Language and Literature with effect from 1 October 2004, or as soon as possible thereafter. The Fellowship is associated with a titular University (CUF) Lecturership, which the University intends at a later date to convert into a stipendiary post; meanwhile the College will pay the full stipend. The College and University encourage applications from those with research interests in the period 1600-1832 and teaching experience in the period 1509-1832. The salary will be according to age, on the CUF scale currently up to £42,900 a year. Additional College allowances are payable.

HARVEY MCGREGOR FELLOWSHIP IN LAW

UNIVERSITY (CUF) LECTURERSHIP

New College proposes to elect, if a suitable candidate applies, a Fellow and Tutor in Law, with effect from 1 October 2004 or as soon as possible thereafter. The Fellowship is associated with a University (CUF) Lecturership. The College and University welcome applications from those interested in research in any aspect of law. The College will wish to elect a Fellow capable of offering tutorial teaching in at least three subjects within the core undergraduate curriculum. The Board of the Faculty of Law welcomes applications from candidates able to teach for it in any of the subjects comprising its BA and BCL/MJur. curricula. The salary will be according to age, on the CUF scale currently up to £42,900 a year. Additional College allowances are payable.

IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE LONDON MATHEMATICAL SOCIETY

G. H. HARDY JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP IN MATHEMATICS

Applications are invited for the G. H. Hardy Junior Research Fellowship in Mathematics for three years from 1 October 2004. The person appointed will be expected to undertake advanced research in any branch of mathematics.

The Fellowship carries a stipend of £13,510 a year (subject to review). A single Fellow is entitled to live in College if suitable rooms are available or to a housing allowance, meals in College, and to entertainment, research and book allowances.
