Statutes approved: Notice

The Registrary has received notice from the Clerk at the Privy Council Office that Her Majesty the Queen, at a Council held on 17 July 2003, was pleased to approve amendments of Statute A and Statute D which were submitted under the Common Seal of the University in accordance with Graces 7 of 11 December 2002 and 5 of 26 February 2003.

The amendment authorized under Grace 7 of 11 December 2002 relates to appointments to the office of University Senior Lecturer (Statute D, XVIII, see the Report of the General Board on the introduction of a single procedure for the consideration of applications for promotion to personal Professorships, Readerships, and University Senior Lecturers, dated 2 October 2002, Reporter, p. 98, and the Council's Notice, dated 9 December 2002, p. 389).

The amendments authorized under Grace 5 of 26 February 2003 relate to membership of the Regent House (Statute A, III, 7(e)) and to the office of Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Statute D, IV) (see the Report of the Council on governance, dated 17 June 2002, Reporter, 2001-02, p. 945, and the Council's Notice, dated 18 November 2002, Reporter, 2002-03, p. 306). Following the approval of these amendments to the Statutes, new interim regulations for the membership of the Regent House in class (e) and new regulations for the Pro-Vice-Chancellors come into effect (see Reporter, 2002-03, pp. 814 and 1198).
