On Thursday, 26 June, at the University Church, on the occasion of the nintieth birthday of Professor Sir Maurice Wilkes, the following members of the Computer Laboratory (CL) and the University Computing Service (UCS) rang a Quarter-Peal of 1260 Changes of Grandsire Doubles. Sir Maurice was Head of the Mathematical Laboratory (later the Computer Laboratory and Computing Service) from 1945 to 1980.
