Elected into a Class A Fellowship for three years, from 1 April 2003:

Elected into a Research Fellowship Class B for two years, from 1 April 2003:

Elected into a Research Fellowship in Class B for one year, from 1 October 2003:

Mr Florian Schui, M.A., Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany, M.A., New School for Social Research, New York, USA.

Elected into a Class D Fellowship for three years, from 1 April 2003:

Elected into Visiting Fellowships:

Professor Lynn Bosetti, Provost and Vice-President, Professor in Educational Policy and Administration at the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, for the academical year 2003-04.

Revd. Dr Frank Carey, MAfr, Director of the Von Hügel Institute at St Edmund's College, after retirement in September 2003, for two years.

Professor Naoki Itoh, Professor of Physics, Sophia University, Japan, for the Lent and Easter Terms of 2004.

Professor Takeshi Kusafuka, Professor of English, Sophia University, Japan, for the Michaelmas Term 2003.

Revd. Professor Míchaél McCraith, OFM, Professor of Modern Irish, National University of Ireland in Galway, for the academical year 2003-04.

Elected as Visiting Senior Research Associates at the Von Hügel Institute:

Mr Michael Watts, Senior Research Associate, School of Education, University of East Anglia, for the Easter Term and the academical year 2003-04.

Elected into a Bye Fellowship for two years from 1 October 2003:

Mr Russell R Manning, M.Phil., ED, B.A., Oxford.

 

DIRECTOR OF THE VON HÜGEL INSTITUTE

Applications are invited for the position of Chair of the Institute tenable from 1 October 2003. The Institute fosters significant academic work in the field of the relation of Christianity to Society particularly through education, poverty, science, and the promotion of more just social structures. The work is undertaken in a broad ecumenical context.

The holder of this new position will be responsible for the co-ordination and viability of the Institute's activities. S/he will encourage interdisciplinary studies and seminars, and aim to enhance recognition of the work of the Institute both within academia and as it relates to societal issues.

The successful candidate will be responsible to the College Council and will be considered for election to a Fellowship. There will be a modest honorarium. For further information about the Institute please refer to http://www.st-edmunds.cam.ac.uk/.
