The Cambridge Society

SECRETARYSHIP

The Cambridge Society is seeking a Secretary to succeed Mr Bill Kirkman on his retirement.

The Secretary is responsible for running the Society in accordance with the policy decided by the Executive Committee. The Society operates in collaboration with other bodies like the Development Office, the Admissions Office, and the Colleges, and an understanding of the Collegiate University, and its achievements and problems, is necessary. The post is part-time, averaging 20 hours a week. The Secretary works in close collaboration with the Administrator, who holds a full-time post. The Secretary receives a non-pensionable honorarium. The post would be suitable for someone who has recently retired, or who is approaching retirement and considering a reduction in working hours, and who wishes to maintain contact with the University.

Further particulars may be obtained from the Administrator, The Cambridge Society, 32 Trumpington Street (e-mail cmfk2@cam.ac.uk).

Those interested should write, with a curriculum vitae, to Dr Don MacDonald, Chairman of the Executive Committee, at the Cambridge Society address, by 8 July 2003.

The Society is an equal opportunities employer.
