Second M.B. Examination (Revised Regulations)

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 452)

With effect from 1 October 2003

The course entitled 'Preparing for Patients' has been revised and the regulations have been amended accordingly.

Regulation 9.

By replacing the two subjects 'Preparing for Patients A (PFPA) and Preparing for Patients B (PFPB)' by the subject 'Preparing for Patients (PFP)' and by adding the following proviso:

provided that a candidate taking the Cambridge graduate course in Medicine shall not be examined in the subject PFP.

By replacing the phrase 'PFPA' and 'PFPB' in sub-paragraph (e) by 'PFP'.

Regulation 10.

By amending sub-paragraph (c) so as to read:

(c) Records of course-work for PFP shall be submitted, in accordance with detailed arrangements approved by the Faculty Board after consultation with the Faculty Board of Biology.

Regulation 14.

By inserting in sub-paragraph (a)(i) the subject PFP before the subject MSOC, by renumbering sub-paragraph (a)(iii) as (a)(iv) and by inserting a new sub-paragraph (a)(iii) so as to read:

(iii)a student whose submission for any course of PFP fails to satisfy the Examiners shall be required to submit a revised report for that course not later than 31 August next following.

Regulation 23.

In sub-paragraph (a) by inserting the words 'and Assessors' after the words 'other Examiners' in line 3.

Regulation 25.

By inserting in line 1 the words 'and Assessors' after the words 'the Examiners'; by replacing in sub-paragraph (a) the word 'they' by the words 'the Examiners'; and by inserting in sub-paragraphs (b) and (c) after the words 'Examiners' the words 'or Assessors'.

SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 458)

The supplementary regulations for Preparing for Patients A and Preparing for Patients B have been replaced with effect from the same date by the following supplementary regulations for the course Preparing for Patients:

Preparing for Patients (PFP)

Each candidate shall submit to the Examiners such written work for each strand of Preparing for Patients as shall be required by the Faculty Board of Clinical Medicine.
