The following conferences, etc. will be open to members of the University and others who are interested:

Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities (CRASSH). The Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities is pleased to announce the following events. 24 July

Female monasticism in Early Modern Europe (Wolfson College). A one-day conference to discuss recent research on female monastic life in Europe during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Followed by a concert of North Italian convent music performed by Musica Secreta (sponsored by CRASSH).

11-12 August

Knowledge, pedagogy, and citizenship in China (CRASSH). A two-day conference exploring the creation and subversion of systems of knowledge pertaining to citizenship in China.

19-21 September

New languages for criticism: in(ter)discipline (Sidney Sussex College). A three-day conference examining the kinds of critical languages used within the scholarly as well as the public sphere, and the linguistic challenge that represents an increasingly interdisciplinary research culture within the modern Humanities.

Divinity. A Jewish Studies Summer School will be held in the Faculty of Divinity, West Road, from 23 to 27 June on the theme of Truth. Further details are available at http://www.divinity.cam.ac.uk/summer.html.

English. The Faculty of English will be hosting an International Conference entitled Making waves: literary studies in an interdisciplinary frame, at Robinson College on 4 and 5 July 2003. Further details and a booking form are available at http://www.english.cam.ac.uk/MakingWaves/index.htm.
