Examination in Archaeology for the M.Phil. Examination

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 471)

With effect from 1 October 2003

Option B. Archaeological Heritage and Museums

By replacing sub-paragraphs (i) and (ii) by the following:

(i) a thesis of not more than 15,000 words in length, including footnotes and appendices, but excluding bibliography, on a topic approved by the Degree Committee for the Faculty of Archaeology and Anthropology;

and
(ii) two written papers, each of three hours' duration, as follows:

Paper 3. The socio-politics of the past.

Paper 4. Museum practice.

and
(iii) two essays, each of not more than 4,000 words in length, of which one shall be an essay on a topic relating to the management of the archaeological heritage and one shall be on a topic approved by the Degree Committee;

and
(iv) two further essays on topics and of a length prescribed by the Degree Committee.
