Election to the Board of Scrutiny: Notice

23 May 2003

The Vice-Chancellor gives notice that the following candidates have been duly nominated for election to the Board of Scrutiny and that it has been certified to him that each candidate has consented to be nominated:

In class (c)(i) (members of the Regent House who will not have attained the age of thirty-five years on 1 October next):

Dr M. ADOMENAS, CAI, is nominated by Professor A. W. F. Edwards, CAI, and Professor D. S. H. Abulafia, CAI.

In class (c)(ii) (members of the Regent House chosen without limit of age):

Dr D. R. DE LACEY, JN, is nominated by Dr M. R. Clark, DAR, and Professor G. N. Stanton, F

Professor G. R. EVANS, F, is nominated by Professor D. N. Dumville, G and Dr J. L. Dawson, W

Dr N. HOLMES, T, is nominated by Professor J. P. Luzio, ED, and Dr S. R. S. Szreter, JN

Professor D. W. PHILLIPSON, CAI, is nominated by Professor A. W. F. Edwards, CAI, and the Revd. J. D. McDonald, CAI

Mr R. SALMON, K, is nominated by Dr S. E. Lintott, DOW, and Professor J. R. Spencer, SE

The Reverend I. M. THOMPSON, SE, is nominated by Professor J. R. Spencer, SE, and Dr D. L. Smith, SE

No other persons having been nominated for election in class (c)(i), Dr Adomenas is duly elected.

An election is necessary to select three members in class (c)(ii) to serve for four years from 1 October 2003. The election will be conducted by postal ballot under the Single Transferable Vote Regulations. Voting papers will be distributed, together with the statements provided by candidates, not later than Monday, 2 June. The last date for the return of voting papers will be Friday, 13 June 2003.
