SENIOR TUTOR

The Governing Body of Lucy Cavendish College is seeking women* candidates for the post of Senior Tutor. The Senior Tutor has overall responsibility for the admission, education, and care of students and the Governing Body expects to appoint a candidate who will provide a strong academic focus for the development of the College. It is important that applicants should share and support the aims of the College and should have experience of the Cambridge tutorial system.

The Senior Tutor is a Fellow of the College and the salary for the post is around £30,000 a year. The office is pensionable and the successful candidate is also eligible for membership of the College's private healthcare scheme. The appointment will be for three years in the first instance, from 1 October 2003, with the possibility of renewal, and is subject to the Statutes and Ordinances of the College, which include a residency requirement.

It is anticipated that the successful candidate would be able to devote approximately three-quarters of her time to the Senior Tutorship and the rest of her time to teaching and research in her subject. A job share would be considered.

It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that referees have written direct to the College (on the appropriate form) by the closing date.

The closing date for applications is Tuesday, 24 June 2003, and interviews will be conducted on Thursday, 3 July 2003.

DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Lucy Cavendish College invites applications for the post of Development Officer with effect from 1 October 2003, or earlier if possible. The appointment will be for two years in the first instance and may, subject to the availability of funding, be renewed for a further period or periods. The stipend of the Development Officer, which can be pensionable under USS, will be around £20,000 a year, depending on experience. The successful candidate will also be eligible for membership of the College's private healthcare scheme.

The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office software, excellent communication and writing skills, and will preferably have considerable experience of using Raiser's Edge. A background in fundraising and development would also be useful.
