St John's College

STIPENDIARY LECTURESHIP IN ANCIENT HISTORY

Applications are invited from suitably qualified men and women for a College Stipendiary Lectureship in Ancient History. The post is a fixed-term appointment for one year from 1 October 2003 to 30 September 2004. It will be a full-time position (ten to twelve hours a week of tutorials) with administrative and pastoral responsibility for the undergraduate students in Ancient Greek and Roman History at St John's and Hertford Colleges studying for the degree courses in Literae Humaniores, Ancient and Modern History, and Classical Archaeology and Ancient History (see http://www.classics.ox.ac.uk/anchist/ for further details). The Lecturer will be expected to teach at least some subjects in both Greek and Roman History. The Lecturer is also expected to be currently engaged in research in Ancient History.
