Medical and Veterinary Sciences Tripos, Part IB (Special Options courses): Notice

In accordance with new Regulation 24 of the Medical and Veterinary Sciences Tripos (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 339), the Faculty Board of Biology give notice that they intend to offer the following Special Options courses for Part IB in the Lent and Easter Terms of the academical year 2003-04 (see also p. 960).

1. Clinical and applied physiology (restricted to 64 students)

2. Substances of abuse and addiction (restricted to 60 students)

3. Control of pain (restricted to 90 students)

4. Experimental psychology (restricted to 120 students)

5. Tumour biology (restricted to 48 students)

6. Infectious disease in animals and man (restricted to 90 students)

7. Applied veterinary anatomy (restricted to 30 students)

8. Sensorimotor neurobiology (restricted to 90 students)

9. Man, molecules, and the environment (restricted to 90 students)

10. Developmental biology: concepts to clinic (restricted to 90 students)

11. Comparative vertebrate biology (compulsory for veterinary students)

These options will be divided into two lists, and students will be required to choose one option from each list. Further details of the options syllabus, timetable, etc. will be published on the Faculty of Biology website in Michaelmas Term 2003. Under the terms of Regulation 24, the Faculty Board may subsequently issue amendments to this list.
