Lincoln College, in association with the Faculty of Modern History, invites applications from postdoctoral graduates or from graduates in the final stages of completing a doctorate, either women or men, for a three year fixed-term non-renewable Praelectorship in Early Modern History from 1 October 2003.
For the College, the Praelector will be required to teach up to twelve hours a week in term, to set and mark collections, and to participate in Admissions. In the Faculty of Modern History the duties of the Praelector will be to provide up to sixteen hours of lectures and classes each year, including eight classes for the Further Subject: Literature and Politics in Early Modern England.
The salary offered is currently £20,310 a year, rising to £23,243 a year in the third and final year. Certain Common Room rights, a hospitality credit, and a book allowance are offered. The appointment is conditional upon the College being satisfied that the applicant has permission to work in the United Kingdom as required under the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996.
