Staff Development Officer in the Staff Development Office

A Staff Development Officer is sought to support new teaching staff and to act as academic adviser to co-ordinate, organize, and deliver the University's Programme in Higher Education Practice. This appointment, which it is hoped will be made as soon as possible, will be for an initial period of two years in the salary range of £23,296 to 35,950 a year.

Applicants will be experienced university teachers or academic staff developers, and the appointment is open to filling by secondment.

Temporary Lecturer in the Department of French

Applications are invited for a two-year temporary Lectureship in the Department of French, to take up appointment on 1 October 2003, or as soon as possible thereafter. The post is to replace the teaching of Dr Philip Ford during his tenure of a British Academy Research Readership. The post will be linked to a College Assistant Lectureship in Clare College.

The Department wishes to appoint a specialist in the field of sixteenth-century French literature. An ability to contribute to the teaching of the undergraduate seventeenth-century French literature paper and to the Faculty M.Phil. in European Literature may be considered an advantage. All members of the Department are required to contribute to the teaching of the French language at a near-native level of competence.

The appointment, which is funded by the British Academy, has a starting salary of £21,125 rising to £22,191 (subject to an annual pay review).
