University Lecturer in the Department of Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Celtic

Applications are invited for a University Lecturer in the Department of Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Celtic, from those qualified in the field of Medieval Celtic Languages and Literatures.

The pensionable scale of stipends for a University Lecturer is £23,296, rising by eleven annual increments to £35,950. An appointment at University Lecturer level will be for three or five years in the first instance, with the possibility of reappointment to the retiring age, subject to satisfactory performance.

Office of Esquire Bedell

Applications are invited from members of the Senate for appointment as an Esquire Bedell with effect from 1 October 2003. The principal duty is to attend the Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor on public occasions, including Congregations and University Sermons. The appointment is open to women and men. The pensionable stipend for an Esquire Bedell is £3,391 a year.

Applications, marked 'Confidential', together with the names of two referees should be submitted to the Administrative Secretary, University Offices, The Old Schools, Cambridge, CB2 1TN, from whom further details may be obtained. The closing date for applications is 9 April 2003.
