The value of the Scholarship will be determined by the College in light of the Scholar's financial circumstances, but may, in appropriate cases, cover all College and University fees for a home or EC student, and provide a maintenance grant of approximately £4,000.

The Scholarship is open to both men and women. The successful candidate shall hold, or expect to hold by the time of admission to the Scholarship, at least a second class honours degree in a subject other than Theology.

Applications should include a curriculum vitae and the names of two referees, whom applicants should ask to write directly to the Academic Administrator.

The Studentship is tenable from 1 October 2003 for one year, renewable for up to three years, and will pay full fees plus a grant for maintenance up to the value of a standard Research Council award for home and EU Students.

Applicants, who must be under 25 years of age on 1 October 2003, must be graduates of an Irish university, and must be or become resident members of Exeter College. The successful candidate must also be accepted by the Faculty of Modern History to read for a post-graduate degree.

Applications should include the names of two referees, whom applicants should ask to write directly to the Academic Administrator together with a curricum vitae, research proposals, and two pieces of written work.
