Announcement of lectures, seminars, etc.

The following lectures, seminars, etc. will be open to members of the University and others who are interested:

Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities (CRASSH). Professor Lisa Jardine, of Queen Mary College, London, will be giving a talk on Christopher Wren at 11 a.m. on Monday, 31 March, in the Crypt of St Paul's Cathedral, London. This lecture forms part of the preliminary events for CRASSH's forthcoming conference on Biographical knowledge (31 March to 3 April, Peterhouse). Lunch following the lecture and direct coach transport to Cambridge will be available by prior arrangement with CRASSH; those wishing to make reservations for the talk are asked to contact the Centre's administrator before 15 March (tel. 01223 765279, e-mail administrator@crassh.cam.ac.uk). German. Dr Thomas Gloning, of the University of Marburg, will give an open lecture in German entitled Deutsche Zeitungen aus fünf Jahrhunderten: Sprache und Textaufbau, on Monday, 10 March, at 5 p.m. in Lecture Block Room 1, Sidgwick Avenue.

University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate and its Advisory Council for New Technologies in Assessment. A seminar entitled The e-Learning challenge and evolving educational goals, will be given at 4.30 p.m. on Wednesday, 12 March, in the Music Room, Downing College. Clinical Veterinary Medicine. On Wednesday, 2 April, Dr Willem Rens, of the Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine, will give a seminar entitled Chromosome position in nuclei; is the end important?, in Lecture Theatre 1, Centre for Veterinary Medicine, Department of Clinical Medicine, Madingley Road, at 4.30 p.m. Tea will be served at 4 p.m. in the Senior Common Room.
