COLLEGE NOTICES

Clare College

HARRISON WATSON JUNIOR STUDENTSHIP

Clare College seeks applications for the Harrison Watson Junior Studentship to begin in October 2003. Holders of the Studentships are required to become members of Clare College but the Studentship is open to graduates of any university in any country and is for research or training in research 'into the causes and cure of tuberculosis, and/or other diseases of an allied character'. The Governing Body intends to interpret these terms in the widest possible sense. The student will be a candidate for a Ph.D. Degree, will be expected to apply through the Board of Graduate Studies in the normal way, with Clare as their first choice College, and will be either a UK or EU national or be a recipient of an ORS award. The Junior Studentship has a value approximately equal to that of a Studentship from the MRC and is normally tenable for three years.

Candidates should only apply if they have been accepted as a suitable candidate by their proposed supervisor who is already established in a suitable post in Cambridge. They should have discussed the application with their proposed supervisor. They should include a supporting letter from their potential supervisor and a brief summary of the proposed study (200-250 words).

Applications, including a curriculum vitae, should be made before Friday, 28 March 2003, to the Convenor of the Harrison Watson Committee, Tutorial Office, Clare College, Cambridge, CB2 1TL.
