Pembroke College

MAUDSLAY RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP IN ENGINEERING

The College hopes to elect not later than 1 June 2003 to the Maudslay Research Fellowship in Engineering with tenure from 1 October 2003.

The Maudslay Research Fellowship in Engineering was established to encourage the highest quality of research in any area of Engineering. The Research Fellow is likely to develop and to benefit from close links with one of the Departments in the University's School of Technology. Many previous holders of the Fellowship have obtained permanent positions at the University.

There is a preference for candidates under twenty-eight years of age but older applicants are not excluded. The tenure of the Fellowship will be for three years. The holder will be permitted to carry out an amount of remunerated teaching, and the Governing Body is likely to give permission for a limited amount of other work, including external consultancy.

The stipend will be in the range of £17,206 to 18,265, adjusted to account for any increases between now and 1 October 2003. The Fellow will also be offered assistance with research and travel expenses, and will enjoy subsidized accommodation and meals. Further particulars are available on request.

Applications, which are due by noon on 5 March 2003, should be made on forms obtainable from the Senior Tutor's Secretary, Pembroke College, Cambridge, CB2 1RF (e-mail pat.whitby@pem.cam.ac.uk) or online at http://www.pem.cam.ac.uk/.

Pembroke College is an equal opportunities employer.
